The first technical experience of computers cam e in the late 1980's with the Atari ST 1040 running Cubase the MIDI sequencing software from Steinberg. Operating on 512Kb of RAM this was the core production tool of the recording studio and used to controlling an array of anlagen keyboards, effects and drum machines.
